Sehwag Should Have Acted Wisely

Sehwag Should Have Acted Wisely

Sehwag’s Comments:

Today, there was shocking news to all Viru’s fans. A person who used to hug the umpires and be friendly with everyone, has revealed his another character. The shocking news is that Viru is not happy about MS Dhoni’s captaincy and his way of dealing things with. And he also told that he didn’t like the field placements of MSD. Now, these comments will be mistaken by the fans and everybody will start thinking that because Viru didn’t like Dhoni, he played badly in this series. And he also went for a duck in the World Cup Final held last year in April against Srilanka. These are the things a player should avoid thinking about.

Dhoni’s Policy A Correct One:

In my opinion, The Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s decision was a correct one. He is a true champion. He is called the “Captain Cool”. He is a captain who never listens to anybody and acts on his own ways. Every captain will have a bad series as well as a good series. That’s all part and parcel of the game. And he also gave the statement that Dhoni never listens to what he says. If you expect a captain to do whatever the Team members say him to do so, then there is no need for a a captain at all. A captain is a one, who acts on his own and gives the required results. So, Dhoni’s policy was a correct one in my opinion.

Dhoni’s Support To Sehwag:

Dhoni, a great captain, supported Sehwag every time he failed to score runs against his name. If it had been another captain, he would have sent Sehwag out. But Viru was the only person whom Dhoni always told “He is that kind of a player who can take the game away from the opposition and he must be in the playing eleven”. Whenever Sehwag is in the squad, Dhoni never dropped him except for rests and injuries. Such was the support from the Captain. But Sehwag reciprocated very badly. The Captain himself is a finisher and he proved it in the World Cup Final last year where scored a unbeaten 91 off 79 balls to take India home after a wait of 28 long years. The world cup was not because of Sehwag, but because of the two north Indians in the names of Gambhir and Dhoni. He should have remembered that and he should have kept quiet in this matter. A player need not appreciate his captain but should not criticize him. That too, a captain like Dhoni should have never been criticized. So, Sehwag must be dropped from the playing eleven for his criticism on Dhoni.

Adjustable Seniors In The Team, So Why Can’t Sehwag?

The top three seniors in Tests, Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar are adjusting with their junior skipper Dhoni. “Then why can’s Sehwag do that?” In fact, Instead of Sehwag, Dravid should have criticized Dhoni because Dravid was the skipper of Dhoni in the past and now he is playing under him. But Dravid was a calm man and he obeys exactly what Dhoni tells him to do. Likewise, the other seniors Sachin and Laxman are also not making any objections to play under Dhoni. Earlier, Sunil Gavaskar wrote in his columns for the TOI that the vice captain of the team (Viru) is disputing against Dhoni and I thought those were rumours. But it proved to be right today. Viru himself admitted that he didn’t like to be under Dhoni’s captaincy due to his dealing matters in a different way, field placements and so on. Sachin, Dravid and Laxman are even greater than Viru and they have got more fans, but they don’t seem to be thinking about all those things. Sachin himself has commented in press after the world cup, that “the best captain he has ever played under was none other the skipper Dhoni”. Such is the captaincy of MSD that even the great Sachin Tendulkar told in this manner. The only difference between Gavaskar and Sehwag is, Gavaskar never commented about playing under Venkataraghavan captaincy but he showed his dislikes in the form of his batting, where he scored 36 not out by playing throughout the innings (60 overs). But Sehwag, on the other hand, commented his dislike towards Dhoni’s captaincy and didn’t do much of a damage under Dhoni in the recent times. Maybe, it should be due to the reason that, he didn’t like Dhoni. Venkataraghavan asked Gavaskar to take his team “off to a flier”. But he didn’t do that. This is the difference.

Sehwag advising to Dhoni

These Factors Will Affect The Team:

The disobedience of Sehwag will cause disunity in the team and it will lead to several problems in the future. So, Dhoni should sort this problem as early as he can. A person’s of Sehwag’s character should be removed from the team. Every captain has got his own field placements and he will do according to his plan only. Who is Sehwag to comment about Dhoni when Dhoni is the captain? He has to keep quiet and play under him or must retire from the game. If Sehwag has this kind of a character, then he might fail in all the innings that he plays under Dhoni. No doubt, Sehwag is a great player. When he gets going, I myself am a fan of this great man. But these comments are unnecessary for a player of his caliber. For a man of his potentials, if he keeps quiet and plays well for the nation, it will only give his fans an enjoyment. I don’t have any criticism about Sehwag’s cricket but I am only criticizing about his comments he made today.

If Dhoni Is A Good Person In Character, He Won’t Drop Viru:

Dhoni, if he is very good in his character also, then he won’t drop Viru in the upcoming matches but if he is very strict in his captaincy point of view, he will drop Sehwag for his comments. I don’t come to the point that Dhoni is a bad captain but if he is a gentleman in nature, he will come to the opinion that, whatever you tell about me, I don’t care about that. You are a real danger to the opposition and so you are a part of the playing eleven. I don’t care about whether you like my captaincy or not. If the selection committee picks you in the squad, you are in my team. But, on the other hand, if he is more authorative in character, he will drop Viru. This is my opinion. Let’s see whether Dhoni keeps him in his team or drops him. Wait and Watch.

  1. Excellent article.
But you have stated that Sachin, Dravid and Laxman are even greater than Viru and they have got more fans. Does greatness is measured by the number of fans one has in any field of activity? If Gavaskar has more fans than Viswanath, does it mean Gavaskar is a greater player than Viswanath?
